Hello,
All classes were in the computer lab today! Each student were asked to log into phschool.com and take the self-test for our last unit. I was shocked and very displeased that a large number of my students had no idea of how to navigate on this site. This leads me to think they have not been using this as a tool or resource for studying and preparing for each selection test??
Ask your child how they did on the quiz and encourage them to spend more time on the website and become more familiar with it???!!!
It is a valuable tool!

Annotation Forms
Hello,
I checked ALL annotation forms today for our '25' Book Count standard. I have only a few since this 9 wks. began to turn the forms in. I smiled but for the most part I know that my students are reading far more than the forms I checked off for today. :-(
Please encourage your students to complete these forms, get your signature and then (here's the hard part) log them in correctly in the notebook in class.
Be mindful, we ask that our students read on level and each book should contain around 150 words. If by chance, the book is larger I will give credit accordingly. If a book has around 450-500 pages, I will give credit for (3) books! So let's read, read, read and then read some more!
I would like to have more than '12' students to meet their reading goal for this 9 wks!
The requirements for each 9 wks. are 6 books, 7 books (Christmas Break), 6 books, 6 books = 25 Books per !!

Identifying Author's Purpose
Hey there,
We will work on identifying and understanding exactly what the author's purpose in each selection we read. It is very important to understand their point of view and why they wrote their selection. With this knowledge under our belts we will be knowledgeable when asked to answer these types of questions.
Progress reports for the first three weeks were sent home and we are well on our way!
Please stay in close contact with me if you have any concerns or questions about your child's grades or current average in my class.
Engrade has a mind of its own so let's not totally rely on that source.
